National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is a service and honor organization that motivates students to strive for academic excellence.  NJHS is open to seventh and eight grade students who have a 3.5 grade point average for three consecutive report cards & progress reports.  Members are selected by a group of St. Cecilia teachers.  Leadership opportunities in Christian Service are available for members of NJHS who must perform eight service hours per trimester as a requirement for membership.

NJHS has two faculty advisors and meets once a week during lunch.  They organize two school-wide service projects:  Food Baskets at Thanksgiving for needy parish families, and the Christmas Giving Tree where St. Cecilia families donate new toys for needy children.   In addition, NJHS coordinates the school’s Red Ribbon Week that emphasizes the importance of students saying NO to drugs.  Members also spend one day every year helping athletes at the Special Olympics.
