THE PURPOSE:  St. Cecilia School Extended Day Care is a nurturing, caring environment that provides high quality Christian day care before and after school for busy and working parents.  We provide a structured, organized program that assists students in completing their homework assignments and also provides recreational activities, creative experiences and free play.

ELIGIBILITY:  Any student in any grade, Kindergarten through Eighth grade, that is enrolled at St. Cecilia School can be accepted into the program based on space availability.  A special Extended Day Care program is offered for our Pre-Kindergarten students.

LOCATION:  St. Cecilia Extended Day Care for the Kindergarten – Eighth grade students is located in the Science and Liturgy rooms and additional classrooms as needed.  The children play on the large playground and all surrounding grass, sand, and asphalt areas.

STAFF:  A qualified director and staff members employed by St. Cecilia School will be watching.  The staff is highly trained, early childhood educators providing quality care.

NUTRITION:  A light, nutritious snack and juice drink will be provided for all students every day that day care is offered.  Children that will be staying late are encouraged to bring an additional snack.  On minimum days children must bring their own lunch.  A snack will still be provided.

CLOTHING:  The children are encouraged to bring comfortable play clothes.

EMERGENCY INFORMATION:  A separate extended day care emergency form must be completed for each family to be kept on file so that we can contact the appropriate parties if an emergency arises.  In addition, St. Cecilia School Extended Day Care is very careful in releasing your child to an appropriate person.  Therefore, a written release form is required if your child is to be picked up by anyone but the designated parent or parents.

YARD SWEEP:  Students that are left after school unsupervised will be taken into the St. Cecilia School Extended Day Care and charged the drop-in rate of $5.00 per hour.  Children must be picked up at school by 3:00 p.m. on regular days and 12:30 p.m. on minimum days or they will be taken into day care.

DROP-IN:  This service is available to parents who may need to leave their child after school for an emergency situation or as the need arises.  We will try to maintain a few open spaces daily, however space may be limited.  Please call the Extended Day Care Director at 544-6465 in advance in order to insure an available space.  A note to your teacher is also necessary so that they can be advised to send your child to day care.
